THE PERFECT ROUTE TO BOCAS DEL TORO:

For an effortless journey, follow these steps:

  1. Arrive at Tocumen International Airport (PTY) in Panama City, Panama.

  2. Transfer to Albrook International Airport (PAC) and catch an Air Panama or Fly Trip flight to Bocas del Toro (BOC).

  3. Currently, flying from Costa Rica to Bocas is only possible by private plane.

QUICK GUIDE TO GETTING TO BOCAS DEL TORO:

  • Start by flying into Panama City, Panama, or San Jose, Costa Rica.

  • Our recommended path is via Panama City, where you can explore flights to PTY.

GETTING TO BOCAS DEL TORO FROM PANAMA CITY:

  1. Opt for a quick 50-minute Air Panama or FlyTrip flight to Bocas del Toro.

  2. Take a scenic 10-hour bus ride from Panama City followed by a 30-minute water taxi.

  3. Fly to David, Panama, and continue with a 4-hour taxi ride and a 30-minute water taxi.

  4. Board a bus from David to Chiriqui Grande, then enjoy a 45-minute boat ride to Bocas Town with PanaBocasExpress.

GETTING TO BOCAS DEL TORO FROM SAN JOSE, COSTA RICA:

  1. Experience a 50-minute flight with Costa Rica Green Air from San Jose's SYQ airport (currently unavailable).

  2. Embrace a 10-12 hour bus or shuttle ride from San Jose and a swift 30-minute water taxi.
